The Trick to Yogurt

So while breakfast is important, we're realizing that a lot of "healthy" foods aren't actually quite so healthy. Greek Yogurt is one of those foods if you don't eat it the right way. It has a ton of protein & little fat, but only if you're getting the right kind, which usually means that it doesn't taste that great... but here's my trick to it:

  • Buy a Greek Yogurt that has few added ingredients (plain Chobani as well as plain FAGE are good options)
  • To make it taste better: have frozen organic cherries & blueberries in your freezer; take them out for breakfast & microwave 1/2 cup of mixed berries for about 30 seconds. This gets them warm & juices flowing out of them
  • Add 1 tsp vanilla extract to 1 serving of plain Greek yogurt, then mix in the berries
  • If you'd like to add a few more carbs, throw in some pumpkin seed granola :)

Why buy flavored yogurt when you can do it at home? Not only will it be better for you, but it'll be FRESH & taste great.

Green Tea Recipe

  1. Brew LOOSE LEAF green tea (much healthier than tea bags)
  2. Add 1 tbsp lemon juice (fresh squeezed)
  3. Add 1 tbsp raw honey
  4. And here's the trick: cut a small piece of ginger root - place in garlic mincer & squeeze 8-10 drops of ginger juice into tea
